Solder Masking

Creative Materials offers several products for solder masking. When applied to circuit boards, solder mask materials offer protection from oxidation, provide resistance to subsequent solder processes, and prevent electrical connection between closely spaced solder pads. Although solder masks are typically green, Creative Materials also makes an opaque white solder mask 125-50. Characteristics of our solder mask materials include resistance to abrasion, scratching and thermal aging. Substrates for solder masks include polyester, polyimide, aluminum, FR-4 boards and glass.

Usually applied by screen printing, pad printing is an option using several of Creative Materials' products and can be useful on contoured and uneven surfaces. Solder masks are used in a variety of electrical and electronic devices for protection to printed circuitry and to prevent shorting of electrical connections.
